Drop-off and Transportation Information

Students may be dropped off as early as 7:35AM and can spend time in the chapel prior to school and must be picked up no later than 4:30PM.
Before and after school, Parents must drop off and pick up students in the circle on the south side of the building, and those students should use Door #9.
Door #3 and #4 are emergency exits only.
If you are coming to drop off or pick up your student during the school day, i.e., doctor’s appointment, please use the visitor parking spot in the Main Lot near Door 1. You may call of come in to pick up your student.

DO NOT PARK IN THE PRIEST PARKING OR MAINTENANCE PARKING OR ON THE BASKETBALL COURT OR KINGSTON AVENUE AT ANYTIME.
15 Minute visitor parking - is 15 minutes only!
After applying for a parking permit. All senior student drivers should park in lot #2 and junior drivers across the street on the visitor parking lot #3 and enter through Door #9 prior to 7:50AM.

Students who arrive to campus at 7:50AM or later must sign-in at the office before going to class. Students who are not in their homerooms by 7:50 AM will be marked tardy.
Parents should email attendance@cathf.com or call the school office to report absences and appointment information by 7:50AM.
Volunteer Requirements:
Chesterton Academy relies on volunteers. Volunteers must be willing to complete and show proof of all aspects of Safe Environment Training:
Active Virtus Account with the Diocese of Joliet
Protecting God's Children
Pastoral Policies Acknowledgement
Standard Behavior for Those Working with Minors
A Background check
Virtus accounts started but components not completed, will be deleted from Virtus by either the Diocese of Joliet or Chesterton Academy after 90 days of non-compliance.

Every volunteer who is involved with minors or vulnerable adults, and those who may have an opportunity to be alone with minors or vulnerable adults, during parish, school, or religious education sponsored events, are required to complete the following requirements prior to employment or volunteering:
Register with VIRTUS (create a VIRTUS account for the Diocese of Joliet/Chesterton Academy of The Holy Family)
Read two Diocese of Joliet Policies and electronically acknowledge and date each one (see below for links)
Complete a Protecting God’s Children training session
Submit to a name-based criminal background check
Additional requirements for employees, school board members, coaches, scout leaders, religious education, and youth ministry volunteers.

Go to http://www.virtus.org.
Click on the green box First-Time Registrant.
Click on Begin registration process.
Select your organization which is Joliet, IL (Diocese).
Then create a User ID and Password for your Virtus Account **. Be sure to list yourself with the proper Role and Secondary Role (if applicable), i.e., Volunteer: Coach.
Follow the instructions on the screen which include reading and acknowledging two Diocesan Policies, and then complete a Protecting God’s Children online session.
At this point, new employee applicants will stop and contact the hiring manager for instructions to be fingerprinted, and volunteers will be transferred from VIRTUS to selection.com/FASTRAX to complete a name-based background check. Do not enter a social security number-it is not needed.
When you have completed the Protecting God’s Children session and your background check is complete, you will be notified.
For employees and coaches - you must complete the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Mandated Reporter Training and recertification training every 3 years, (go to https://mr.dcfstraining.org/). Then, submit your Training Certificate, the Mandated Reporter Acknowledgement (DCFS Cants 22 Form), and a Volunteer Application.
Employees must also complete Sexual Harassment Prevention Training annually through their Virtus Account.
** If you already have a VIRTUS account in the Diocese of Joliet, sign in and add Chesterton Academy of The Holy Family in the green box labeled My Info at + Add Role and Location and contact the Safe Environment Coordinator listed below. If you do not know your login information, please contact the Helpdesk at helpdesk@virtus.org or call 1-888-847- 8870 to recover your login information. If you have a Virtus Account in another diocese or archdiocese, contact the Helpdesk to add or transfer your Account to the Diocese of Joliet/Chesterton Academy of The Holy Family.
