Congratulations Maria Olache!
The Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) offers an annual, state-wide music competition for high school students to perform and compete against other students from across the state. From the scores, students from each district are chosen to be a part of a district band, orchestra, and choir, which perform at a district music festival. From those scores, and announced after Thanksgiving, it will be decided which musicians will be chosen to perform in the All-State festival at the end of January. At this amazing festival, the best musicians and vocalists across the state will unite and create wonderful music.
Our school is a member of District 9 of the ILMEA. Our very own Junior, Maria Olache, will perform on her violin at the District 9 festival this Saturday, November 11. It is open to the public if you are interested in attending the concert. Tickets are only $5; the information can be found at www.ilmea.org/d9srfestival. We anxiously await the All-State announcement and will keep you all posted! In the meantime, congratulations, Maria, and good luck!
